Memorialize became the newest stakes winner from the Eddie Woods training program with her dramatic victory in the $120,000 Tepin S. on Nov. 17 at Aqueduct.
Memorialize was sent off as the favorite in the one-mile Tepin following the 2-year-old filly’s even effort in the Miss Grillo S. (G2) in early October over the same turf course. She stalked the pace a few lengths from the lead until the final furlong, when she accelerated quickly to get up by a neck over Awesome Czech in 1:36.57 on the firm turf.
“I’ll talk to Antony [Beck, owner of Gainesway Stable] about [her next start],” said winning trainer Graham Motion. “I would imagine we’ll take her to Florida. She hasn’t had a hard campaign, so where we’ll start her, I’m not sure. But I do think we’ll be taking her to Florida.”
Beck is also the breeder of Memorialize, who is now 2-1-0 in four starts and has earned $143,750.
