United, winner of the San Marcos S. (G2) in February, came back on May 23 to capture his second graded stakes in a row in the Charles Whittingham S. (G2).
The Eddie Woods training grad was very game in victory, besting Rockemperor (IRE) by just a nose in the 1 1/4-mile turf affair.
United was content to track longshot Synthesis through the first mile before taking over the lead, then held off the hard-charging Rockemperor in a head-bobbing finish. The winner covered the distance in 2:00.34 on the firm turf.
“He’s getting better and better with each race, I think he still improving every race,” said winning rider Flavien Prat. “He’s very cool to be around, he always gives a lot I think it’s really cool.”
Trained by Richard Mandella for LNJ Foxwoods, United is 5-3-1 in 13 starts and has banked $1,133,549.
