Good Cheer turned in yet another stellar performance in Saturday’s $400,000 Fair Grounds Oaks (G1), bounding home a 3 ½-length winner to improve her record to six-for-six.

The Eddie Woods Training program grad has never been seriously challenged in any of her races, which include the Rachel Alexandra S. (G2), Golden Rod S. (G2) and Rags to Riches S.

As she has done in all her races, Good Cheer set slightly off the pace early pace until launching her bid on the final turn. Coming three-wide, she overtook Ahavah in upper stretch and kicked clear in the final furlong to win going away in 1:43.44 for the 1 1/16-miles on a fast track.

“This is a very good filly and we’re really proud of her,” said winning trainer Brad Cox. “She had to work hard to finish up but she finished very well. She’s not massive, but we've got two races in her as a 3-year-old and we have six weeks between now and the Kentucky Oaks to get her ready.”

Good Cheer heads to Kentucky as the likely favorite for the Oaks. Owned by her breeder Godolphin LLC, Good Cheer has earned $877,630.
