July 13 was Arlington Million Preview day at Colonial Downs, and Eddie Woods training grads took a pair of stakes on the card, topped by Integration in the $125,000 Million Preview S.
Two races prior to Integration’s win, Fulmineo took the Boston S. for his second straight stakes win.
Integration, trained by Shug McGaughey, was the heavy favorite in the nine-furlong turf race, and turned in an outstanding performance. Facing just two foes, he tracked in third for six furlongs before making a swift move to engage the leaders on the final turn. After a brief battle for the lead, Integration put away his foes with a stellar stretch run, drawing off to win by 6 ½-lengths in 1:48.82 on the soft turf.
His final time was good for a Beyer Speed Figure of 100, tying his lifetime best.
Integration was third this spring in the Makers’ Mark Mile (G1) at Keeneland and is now 4-0-1 in seven starts, with earnings of $681,800 for owners West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing LLC, Pine Racing Stables and William Freeman. The 4-year-old son of Quality Road was bred by Larkin Armstrong and is out of the Grade 1 winner Harmonize.
