Fulmineo surged to the lead in the final furlong of the $125,000 Boston S. July 13 at Colonial Downs to win the one-mile turf race by a half-length over Crystal Quest. This was the second straight stakes win for the Eddie Woods Training grad

A 3-year-old son of Bolt d’Oro, Fulmineo had defeated Crystal Quest in Pimlico’s James Murphy S. on Preakness Day, and the Boston came down to those two as well. Fulmineo was between and behind horses for the first six furlongs, with Crystal Quest just ahead of him. Fulmineo was forced to go five-wide into the stretch, going around and past Crystal Quest in deep stretch to get the win.

The final time was 1:37.10 on the firm turf.

Trained by Arnaud Delacour for Starlight Racing and Mark Grier, Fulmineo is 3-4-1 in 10 starts and has earned $254,275. He was purchased by Starlight for $90,000 at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearlings sale.

Bred by Country Life Farm and Starr of Quality LLC, Fulmineo is the first foal out of Starr of Quality, who has a 2024 colt by Cyberknife.
