The stellar 3-year-old filly Frank’s Rockette could be on her way to the Breeders’ Cup following her commanding 7 ½-length win in Saturday’s $150,000 Gallant Bloom H. (G2) at Belmont Park.
Facing older fillies and mares for the first time, the Eddie Woods training grad let Pacific Gale set the early pace. Junior Alvarado, on Frank's Rockette, bided his time until midway on the turn, when he made his move for the lead. The bay filly easily went by the pacesetter and drew off with little effort. Wrapped up the final sixteenth, she completed the 6 ½-furlongs in 1:16.12 on a fast track.
Frank’s Rockette is an excellent 6-4-0 in 10 starts and has now earned $606,103 for owner/breeder Frank Fletcher and trainer Bill Mott. She won the Victory Ride S. (G3) and Prioress S. (G2) in her two starts before Saturday.
“I'm sure we'll consider it, we just have to see,” said Mott when asked about running in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) next month at Keeneland. “I have to talk to my owner. She's rating a little bit and seems to like it. With today's group, seven-eighths wouldn't be a problem but the Breeders' Cup is a different story and a different group of horses. I'm proud of our filly and I think we need to consider it.”
